Bound in tan cloth over boards with upper board and spine decorated and titled in brown and green, decorated endpapers, pale green topstain. Shallow bumps to top fore corners of boards. Jacket has a few tiny edge chips and rubs.
The story of the Salem witch trials by Shirley Jackson, author of such memorable and macabre classics as "The Lottery" and "The Haunting of Hill House." This history is aimed at a young audience, and is #69 in the Random House's excellent juvenile Landmark Book series. Nicely illustrated by Lili Rethi.
