The classic collection of old Maryland recipes for everything from oysters, crabs, terrapin and fowl, to breads, cakes, puddings, beverages and desserts. Each of the 500 plus recipes in Frederick Stieff's collection was collected from its source and not lifted from any prior publication--unless that publication was over 100 years old. Well executed drawings by Edwin Tunis, though some are racially insensitive by today's standards.

Very good in a very good dust jacket. Bound in black cloth over boards with stunning red, white and gilt stamped spine and upper board decoration. Salmon-colored topstain. Minor extremity wear. Jacket illustrated with the Maryland flag, has several moderate edge chips and a few short, closed edge tears. Price intact.
