The Phenomenon of Dowsing for Water

Henry Gross and his Dowsing Rod (Signed by Roberts and Gross)

Garden City: Doubleday & Company, Inc., 1951. First printing. Black and white photographs. Original cloth. Octavo. [viii], 310 pages. Near fine in a very good dust, price clipped dust jacket. Light extremity rubs to cloth binding. Jacket has a few shallow chips at spine ends and fore corners of front panel.

Renowned literary author Kenneth Roberts (Arundel, Northwest Passage, Rabble in Arms, etc.) makes a solid, factual study of the phenomenon of dowsing through the remarkable story of Henry Gross. The two met when wildfires ravaged Maine in 1947 and water was badly needed on Roberts' Kennebunkport farm. Gross found it. Then with Roberts' encouragement, went on to further develop his gifts and dowsing successes, including in Bermuda and Vermont.

This copy is inscribed and signed by both Roberts and Gross on title page.
