A nice set of first editions of Emerson's Essays (1841) and Essays: Second Series (1844). These writings represent the core of Emerson's thought, and read as well today as they did when these two volumes were new.
Contemporaneous gift presentation tipped in at front endpapers of "Essays." Both volumes are in their original cloth bindings with both gilt spine titles remaining quite bright.
