The author spent ten years researching and photographing this fascinating history of St. Mary's County--Maryland's "Mother County." He sought out unusual and obscure anecdotes, legends, and traditions not found in ordinary historical works.
Inscribed and signed to Miss Cornelia M. Bowie on front free endpaper, dated June 18, 1941 at Leonardtown, Maryland.
