A Prospect of Harvard University and of Radcliffe College, Cambridge, Massachusetts
Boston: The Merrymount Press, 1935. Color pictorial map. Single sheet, approximately 34" x 25" Some browning to margins, along with a few closed edge tears and shallow chips.
Schruers was a graduate of Harvard and created this architectural bird's-eye view of his alma mater in celebration of its tercentenary in 1936. It is therefore less comical than other college pictorial maps of the era, emphasizing academic tradition (note the coats of arms) and an air of scholarly seriousness rather than playful humor.
Printed at Daniel Berkeley Updike's famous Merrymount Press in Boston.
HORNSBY pp. 156-157.
