Stanley Kimmel is better known for "The Mad Booths of Maryland" and other historical works, but was a very talented World War I era poet and friend of Ernest Hemingway.
This volume of proletarian protest poetry focuses on the coal miners of Kimmel's native Southern Illinois, and is illustrated with 3 black and white plates by Hugo Gellert.
This is copy #6 of the limited edition of 250 copies, signed and numbered by Kimmel. Beautiful copy in dust jacket.
