A fantastic production to commemorate Suntory's 50th anniversary as the originator of quality whisky production in Japan. The book consists of 20 works from well known authors from 5 countries--Japan, the United States, England, France, and Italy.
Stories by Norman Mailer, John Updike, Roald Dahl, John Cheever, Pierre Gascar, Shin-Ichi Hoshi, Hiroshi Akutagawa, Kazuo Watanabe, and others.
The book is bound in white oak boards--the same as the barrels in which Suntory Whisky is aged--with a leather spine titled in gilt, silk ribbon bookmark. Brass title plates on both boards. The text is in both Japanese and English. Housed in a clamshell box, as issued.
Inscribed and signed by Suntory President Keizo Saji on preliminary blank leaf.
