Detailed early report on the effects of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August, 1945. The Manhattan Project Atomic Bomb Investigating Group was dispatched just two days after the second bomb was dropped. Its mission was to secure scientific, technical, and medical intelligence in the atomic bomb field as soon as possible. This is the report that resulted. Includes much on the unusual effects of these nuclear detonations within cities--both on structures and people. Very scarce.
