Bound in green cloth over boards with gilt-stamped spine and upper board. A few light rubs to board extremities, but very clean and sound overall. / Jacket has chipping of up to 1/2" at head and heel of spine, along with a few other small edge chips. Minor rubbing and a 1" split to fore edge fold.

Bertram Thomas was the first documented Westerner to cross the vast desert of Rub' al Khali on the southern Arabian Peninsula. He recounts that adventure and several others in the region, including an expedition against a rebellious shaikh in which Thomas and a band of Arab tribal irregulars supported British forces.
