New York: Frederick A. Stokes Company, 1931. First Edition. Black and white photographs, maps, plus 29 separate official photographs from the U.S. Signal Corps. Cloth over boards. Octavos. xvi, 400 and xii, 436 pages.

This set includes a separate group of 29 individual photographs from the U.S. Signal Corps depicting soldiers, officers, battlefield carnage, destroyed villages, and more, each with identifying caption. The photographs each measure approximately 6 1/2" x 8 1/2".
A nice example of this important memoir by the leader of the American Expeditionary Forces, with a bonus packet of U.S. Signal Corps photographs.
Books are bound in dark blue cloth over boards with gilt-stamped spines and upper boards, jackets in archival Mylar covers. Some scattered light foxing and browning to interiors, touches of fading to exterior cloth. Jackets have shallow edge chips, a few closed tears, and mild fading to spines and top edges. No prior ownership marks. Hinges and bindings sturdy. Very good in good to very good dustjackets. The U.S. Signal Corps photographs are slightly curled.
