Most were originally published in The Century Magazine's celebrated 'War Series.' This heavily illustrated work remains one of the most important narrative sources on the conflict.
Very clean and sound set uniformly bound in attractive marbled paper boards with leather spines, five raised bands, gilt stamped red title labels and gilt ornaments. Marbled textblock edges on the first 3 volumes, with volume 4 edges tinted a solid shade of aqua blue. Leather spine on volume 4 is slightly darker. Interiors clean. A very handsome and sturdy set.
