Beautiful edition of 'Leaves of Grass,' which was the only complete, authorized edition protected by copyright when published. Text and arrangement of the poems follows the edition authorized and editorially supervised by Whitman's literary executors in 1902.

Also included herein are Whitman's significant prefaces to his volumes of poetry from 1855, 1872, 1876, and 1888 as well as discarded poems. In addition there is a section of variorum readings at rear and a title index that includes numerous discarded titles cross referencing them to current titles.
