Based on the successful 1913 full length film of the same name, this book published the following year is widely recognized as the first American novelization of a movie. The story dramatized the issue of forced prostitution (often referred to then as "white slavery") in New York City.
Very good in a very good dust jacket. Slight fading to spine extremities, slight lean to spine. Jacket has fading to spine titles, a 1" chip across heel of spine, a closed 1 1/2" tear to rear panel, come loss along top 1 1/4" of lower joint fold. a few other minor extremity chips.
