Containing what is arguably the first appearance of Theodore Roosevelt's famous "Man in the Arena" speech in the United States. This is the speech Roosevelt delivered by invitation at the Sorbonne on April 23, 1910. The speech appears here under its official title, "Citizenship in a Republic."

Quite scarce in this stand alone issue of the magazine, wherein the speech occupies 10 full pages.

Near fine in original covers. Minor extremity wear and a small prior owner label on front cover, else fine.
