Baum's scarce, beautifully illustrated alphabetical verse book on the navy. Published the same year and by the same publisher as his "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz." Beautifully illustrated throughout with colorful scenes of naval life and activities corresponding to each letter of the alphabet.
Near fine. Original binding with discreet repair to front hinge. Rubbing to extremities, light general soiling. Old inscription of child's name and address lettered upside down on rear blank leaf, with same child's name pencilled neatly at top of front free endpaper. A very nice of this uncommon Baum item, usually found well beaten up.
