A Chapter on Autography by Edgar Allan Poe
New York: Lincoln Mac Veagh at the Dial Press, 1926. Limited Edition, #96 of 750 copies. Frontispiece portrait, facsimile signatures. Hardcover. Octavo. 92 pages.
Poe was very interested in autographs and what could be deduced about a person through their handwriting. This study of autography (or graphology) was originally published in Graham's Lady's and Gentleman's Magazine in the last two issues of 1841. There are illustrations within the text of numerous autographs, along with Poe's commentary.
Very good to near fine, with minor extremity wear, including rubs to fore corner tips. Top margin of early leaf has a 1" wide chip to a depth of 1/4". Clean and sound overall.
