Originally published in 1833, this is the second edition of Burritt's famous star atlas. The sky maps inside show the visible stars their locations by season in the night skies. The maps are stunningly decorated with hand-colored figures of mythological characters and animals, designed to help users visualize the shapes of the constellations.
Moderate staining and browning to covers, shallow chipping to cover extremities and along lower spine, some slight toning and a few margin stains to maps and plate. Near fine.
