In his Introduction, Machen calls this "the oddest, the queerest book in the world."


Fine in a near fine dust jacket. Bound in blue and white paper over boards with spine titled and ornamented in gilt, blue endpapers, with fore and bottom edges untrimmed. Shallow bumps at spine ends. Jacket has a 1/4" x 1/2" chip at head of spine along with one smaller chip. Slight browning to jacket spine and top edges. A beautiful copy, not often found in such nice condition. Housed in a custom slipcase.
