A collection of 17 protest poems by Langston Hughes, published by The International Workers Order. According to Michael Gold in his Introduction, this was first of what was to be a series of literary pamphlets published by the IWO.

Contains Hughes's dramatic poem "Let America Be America Again," which contrasts the American dream with the unfortunate reality faced by many Americans of all races in the 1930s. Hughes was Introduced as an author who could speak for the underprivileged because of his race.

Pictorial paper covers over saddle-stapled binding. Two small areas of light foxing near head and heel of spine and a few minor extremity rubs, otherwise bright and clean. Nicer than usually seen.
