New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1953. First Edition. Cloth hardcover. Octavo. xiv, 562 pages.

Lindbergh's autobiographical account of the events leading up to and including his historic transatlantic solo flight in 1927.

This copy is inscribed by Lindbergh "To Aunt June / with best wishes from / Charles" and dated August 1, 1953. Lindbergh has further written "Publication date is Sept. 14th" at bottom of title page.

The aunt to whom Lindbergh inscribed this copy was his father's sister, Juno Lindbergh Butler (1867-1953). She died on September 1, 1953, two weeks before the official publication date noted in Lindbergh's inscription.

Near fine in a very good dust jacket. Bound in dark blue cloth over boards with spine titled in silver, upper board airplane ornament in silver, blue topstain. A few light extremity rubs to binding. Jacket has some shallow chipping to head of spine, a few short closed edge tears and shallow rubs. Clean and bright overall, a very attractive copy.
