Big Sur
New York: Farrar, Straus and Cudahy, (1962). First printing. Hardcover. Octavo. [iv], 241 pages.
This semi-autobiographical novel is a candid exploration of Jack Kerouac’s post-fame struggle with addiction and despair, written in his characteristic stream of consciousness style, and set against the backdrop of California’s rugged coastline.
Near fine in a near fine dust jacket. Top fore corner of lower board is bumped, with some associated wrinkling and a short tear to jacket. A few minor rubs to spine. Clean and bright overall, with jacket price intact, no prior ownership marks. A great looking copy.
