The battle of Monocacy as recalled by a young eyewitness. A good portion of the Confederate army passed over Worthington's parent' property. This accurate account includes brief biographies of the major figures, quotations from official correspondence, and recounts conditions at Point Lookout prison camp in southern Maryland. Worthington demonstrates how Union General Lew Wallace's brilliant delaying action won the battle.
This copy is Inscribed and signed by Worthington in the year of publication, at Frederick, Maryland. Very uncommon in dust jacket.
