Boston: Little, Brown, and Company, 1892. First editions. Black and white maps and battle plans. Cloth over boards. Octavos. xxii, 380 and xx, 428 pages. Very good to near fine. Bound in dark blue cloth over boards with gilt-stamped spines and upper boards, top edges gilt, black coated endpapers. Small prior owner bookplate on front pastedown of each volume. Slight cracking to front endpapers along inner hinge of volume I, but still sound. Volume II has a few ripples to cloth on both boards and a few spots to upper board, Both upper boards decorated with a gilt-stamped sketch of the hull and lower masts of a three deck ship-of-the-line. Clean and sound overall, with slight extremity wear to bindings.
