Rare "Announcement Number One" promoting seven fine limited editions planned for 1927 by The Nonesuch Press and to be distributed in the US by the fledgling Random House, Inc. This was the first commercial use of the now iconic Random House logo, designed by Rockwell Kent.
The Nonesuch books offered here include the famous Botticelli-illustrated "Divine Comedy," Melville's "Benito Cereno," and Bunyan's "Pilgrim's Progress," among others. The original unused order form is present in this prospectus.
