Wassmuss: "The German Lawrence"

London: Longmans, Green and Co., (1936). First printing. Black and white photographic plates by Robert Byron. Cloth over boards. Octavo. xxii, 272 pages. Very good in a good plus dust jacket. Spine has a spot through cloth about the size of a watermelon seed near heel. Some light soiling to cloth on rear panel, shallow bumps to spine ends. Jacket has a triangular chip at top of upper joint fold to a depth of 3/4", edge chips at head of spine to a depth of 1/2", and other edge rubs, wear, and shallow chips. Jacket remains quite presentable. Overall an attractive copy.

Biography of Wilhelm Wassmuss, a shadowy German agent, diplomat, and spy in the Persian Gulf region before and during World War I.

Uncommon, particularly in the dust jacket.
