First British edition of the Condon Report, a detailed scientific examination of the UFO phenomenon conducted by the University of Colorado under the direction of physicist Dr. Edward Condon.
The Condon Report examines in detail 59 reported UFO sightings, along with related documents and photographs. It was the first attempt at a sustained and dispassionate examination of UFOs by scientists.
Includes a bibliography and extensive Appendices of interesting material. For example, Appendix U is the previously classified document relating to the CIA's involvement in an operation to debunk UFOs in 1953.
Bound in gray cloth over boards with black cloth spine labels titled in silver gilt. Small prior owner name stamped at lower fore corner of front free endpaper. Shallow rubs at spine ends. Jacket has some light surface soil visible in white areas, minor extremity rubs, and two cleanly closed 1/2" edge tears at bottom of rear panel. Overall near fine in a near fine dust jacket.
