Gilt-stamped spine titles and ornaments, five raised bands, marbled endpapers and textblock edges. Hinges sound. Handsome volume.

Gleig's journal of the British army's invasion of the United States during the War of 1812. Describes the voyage over, military engagements, failures and successes on both sides, etc. There are interesting sketches of the regions of the fighting, including in Maryland, the area around Washington, and New Orleans.
