This was the first scholarly study of the ideological basis and the activities of the KKK. It is based on tremendous research in primary sources and remains the most comprehensive treatment of the subject of the Klan from 1866 to 1872.

Near fine in a very good dust jacket. Shallow bumps at lower fore corners of boards, minor offsetting to pastedowns from jacket flaps. Jacket has minor edge wear, rubs, and a slightly abraded bump at lower part of spine. Clean and sound overall.
