Yellow paper-covered boards with leather spine, which is titled and ruled in gilt. Minor extremity rubs and shallow bumps. Foxing throughout. Binding is sound. Bottom 1" to 1 3/4" of a rear blank leaf is lacking. Overall a very nice copy of this scarce manual.
This manual is an early attempt to introduce a uniform system cavalry of exercise and movements for the U. S. military. Illustrated with eight copper-plate engravings. Includes significant instruction on swords.
