A New York Car in Southern California

[Yonkers]: [The Forbes Press], [1934]. First edition. Hardcover. Octavo. 107 pages. Bound in light brown cloth over boards with dark brown leather-textured cloth spine and fore corners, decorative endpapers. Upper board title in gilt. A hint of fading to spine, else fine.

Charmingly written travel narrative by a woman who, along with her husband, toured Southern California by automobile in the early 20th century. They shipped their car from New York to California, then took the train themselves by way of New Orleans and the Grand Canyon.

She gives great descriptions of Los Angeles, Hollywood, driving down the coast to San Diego, California's missions, and much more. One black and white photographic illustration of Pala Mission tipped in.

Scarce, with only 2 copies located in institutions.
