Gilbert Byron's first book, printed in an edition of 300 copies with lovely tipped-in color illustrations by Jack Lewis. Here are the people and wildlife of the Chesapeake Bay, captured in verse by the region's answer to Thoreau. Byron's printed presentation slip and notice of a forthcoming second printing is laid in, as he happily announces that the entire first printing has been sold. This copy is also inscribed and signed by Byron on a preliminary blank leaf. . Signed by Author.
