Jacket has a touch of browning to rear panel and a few tiny rubs at extremities.

A beautiful copy of this volume 4 in the famed Rivers of America series, edited by Constance Lindsay Skinner, with her 13 page essay "Rivers and American Folk" included at end. Illustrated by Ross Santee. Laid in is a 1942 handwritten letter from author Struthers Burt responding to an autograph request by a prior owner of this book. Letterhead and matching envelope from Hotel Rancho Telva, Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico. Included with the autograph letter is the requested autograph, on its own small sheet of notebook paper.
