Forman began work on this--his largest book--in 1935. Gives a full account of Eastern Shore life, customs, gardens, artifacts, and yes, buildings, linking these with their British origins. Illustrated with over 700 photographs and drawings, mostly by Forman himself. The incredible thing about Forman's work is that the drawings of floorplans and structural elevations are based on his own personal measurements in the field. An immense amount of work.
