[New York]: (s.n.), (1961). Softcover. Octavo. 42 pages. Good+. Some light rubs and creases to covers.
Taylor Mead...beat film actor, poet, muse of Andy Warhol... This is the first and most scarce of his published diaries. Photographs of Mead on front and rear covers by Lenora Miller. Prior owner gift inscription on inside front cover reads " To a friend who was very good to me. Hope you find what you ar (sic) looking for. / Whisky."
There is an additional message from Mead printed on slip of paper, laid in, which reads:
"This is the absolute biography of a human being -- believe me -- it is much more difficult for me to put this into print than it is for the blue noses, and ignorant, and critically censor powered to read it.
I give myself for rendering asses and the delectation of genius."
