Fearon, a London surgeon, was deputed by thirty-nine English families to visit the United States in 1817 and ascertain which part, if any, would be suitable for their residence. This is his narrative, comprised of eight reports addressed to those families. Includes many interesting observations, though Fearon was no lover of America and this shows sometimes. HOWES F65.
