Bound in blue paper covers with silver stamped lettering and decoration to front cover. Some minor rubs and light soil to slipcase, including chipping to title label. Folded star chart has a couple of tears along fold creases but no loss. Overall fine in a near fine slipcase.
Amazing World War II sea survival tool with great information on navigation and locating land with the aid of stars, bird life, currents, ocean characteristics, etc.
There are two large folding charts--"World Navigation Chart," and "Gatty Star Chart."--included in the slipcase, as issued. The latter, printed on a translucent stock, can be either laid out flat for plotting or held up to the night sky and looked through for identification of stars. In addition there is a protractor printed on transparent stock bound in at rear for emergency use. Errata slip tipped in at rear.
