New York: The Viking Press, (1939). First printing. Cloth over boards. Octavo. [iv], 619 pages. Near fine, with a bit browning to spine and endpapers. Bound in coarse tan cloth over boards with illustration and titles stamped in brown to exterior, darkened yellow topstain. Faint drink ring on lower board. Sturdy, hinges not cracked.

Steinbeck's novel of Dust Bowl migrants to California during the Great Depression, for which he won both the National Book Award and the Pulitzer Prize for fiction.

First edition, first issue, with proper points, including textual error on page 270, textual errors in the lyrics printed on endpapers, and the error in the dedication.
