A collection of early articles and poems by Faulkner, all but one of which originally appeared in The Double Dealer magazine. Selected and published by Hemingway's friend, Paul Romaine, of Casanova Bookstore of Milwaukee. In his humorous Preface Romaine explains the inclusion of Hemingway's poem four-line "Ultimately" on the rear cover as "a whim."
