Baltimore: Enoch Pratt Free Library, 1956. Color lithography. Single sheet. Image size approximately 38 1/4" x 25 1/2". Framed dimensions approximately 44" x 31" Near Fine. Some slight age toning and a few faint specks visible under glass in map margins. Plain wood frame with new backing paper. Frame remains sturdy and displays a pleasing patina.

Strikingly colorful and detail-rich pictorial map of Maryland drawn by Edwin Tunis. Loaded with fascinating historical anecdotes and charming illustrations covering the first 300 years of Maryland's history. Border vignettes portray more significant historical events and sites in Maryland. There is an inset map of Annapolis featuring several of its historically significant buildings and streets.

This is the 1956 second printing of this iconic map, which was originally published in 1931 to celebrate Maryland's tercentenary. Tunis was a Newbery Award winner, and this stunning example of his work is framed and ready to hang as a focal point in any Maryland collection.
