Baltimore: The Etchcrafters Art Guild, 1939. First edition, set #64 of 200. Black and white etchings. Black Morocco spines, blue cloth sides. Folios. 425 pages. Both volumes very good with slight rubs along joints and minor, expert conservations to spines. Hinges sound.

This stunning collection of Maryland dwellings built between 1632 and 1840 includes houses from every county in the state, along with descriptive text for each. The etchings comprise 100 tissue-guarded artist's proofs between the two volumes, each etching being signed by Swann in pencil.

Foreword by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Prefaces are signed by both Don Swann and Don Swann, Jr. Printed at the Monumental Printing Company in Baltimore on Rives woven imported paper. It is estimated that of the edition of 200 only 150 to 160 copies were ever actually produced.

This impressive and iconic Maryland piece is housed in a custom clamshell presentation box of beige cloth with a paper spine label.
