The Cruise of the "Barbuzz"

(S.l.): [c.1933]. Ink and pencil. Single sheet. Framed to 17 1/2" x 20 3/4", sight 10" x 13" Fine condition.

This is a finely drawn original ink and pencil map showing the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays and many associated rivers. A note on the back reads, "Drawn about 1933 by a friend of Al Holmes who gave it to me in memory of many trips he made in these waters on my boat Barbuz, 1930-1935." Signed by Joe Renney at lower right corner. "Barbuz" likely refers to a style of cruiser by that name, developed about 1930 by Hubert Johnson of Bay Head, New Jersey.

Decorated with charming details such as compass rose, title scroll, a couple of tall ships, and an old sailor. One of a kind.

Professionally matted and framed using conservation grade UV protective glass.
