Teach Hope to All

[New York]: [United Negro College Fund], [1947]. Black and white photographs. Saddle-stapled softcover. [16] pages. Some minor browning to covers, occasional light foxing to interior. Tiny closed edge tears at top of two pages. Very good.

Scarce booklet promoting the 1947 fundraising campaign for the United Negro College Fund, taking its cover title from a line by Abraham Lincoln in his 1842 address to the Springfield Washington Temperance Society--"...They teach hope to all -- despair to none."

Contains the stories of six African American college graduates, demonstrating the promise and accomplishments of men and women educated at institutions associated with the United Negro College Fund.

Well illustrated with photographs. Includes the original return postage-paid envelope for contributions.
