Photographs and illustrations of numerous western outlaws and lawmen, some of which are rare images. Noah Rose spent decades collecting over 3,000 old photographs of frontier characters, outlaws, gunmen, Texas Rangers, U. S. Marshals, and other images. Marvin Hunter gathered biographical and background information on the people depicted. Both compilers actually knew many of the characters in this book.

The fascinating collection of images here includes the likes of Frank and Jesse James, Billy the Kid, the Dalton gang, the Earp brothers, Doc Holliday, and the Younger brothers. Includes women such as Calamity Jane, Belle Starr and Cattle Annie. There are hundreds lesser-known figures as well. Includes errata slip, Front and rear dust jacket panels laid in.
