New York: Creative Age Press, (1947). First printing. Cloth over boards. Octavo. [iv], 305 pages. Very good in a good dust jacket. Bound in brick red cloth over boards with spine titled in silver. Slight lean to spin, minor extremity bumps. Prior owner name dated 1947 penned on front free endpaper. Jacket has a 1" square chip at heel of spine, some other smaller edge chips, and a few closed edge tears. Underside of jacket has some old tape stains.

Struggles of mulatto Beau Beauchamp in a racially intolerant New Orleans. First novel by this African American author. This copy inscribed and signed by Thomas on preliminary blank leaf.
