Slight lean to spin, minor extremity bumps. Prior owner name dated 1947 penned on front free endpaper. Jacket has a 1" square chip at heel of spine, some other smaller edge chips, and a few closed edge tears. Underside of jacket has some old tape stains.
Struggles of mulatto Beau Beauchamp in a racially intolerant New Orleans. First novel by this African American author. This copy inscribed and signed by Thomas on preliminary blank leaf.
